Modern space missions—satellites, interplanetary probes, and orbital platforms—demand memories capable of withstanding ionizing radiation, energetic particle events, extreme temperatures, and long periods of maintenance-free operation. Conventional electrical charge-based memories have significant limitations in these environments.
Würth Elektronik now offers its WE-LT conductive fabric gaskets in a halogen-free version. These gaskets have proven to be an effective solution for reducing EMC problems in electronic devices. WE-LT Halogen Free gaskets offer shielding attenuation greater than 80 dB at 100 MHz, a typical surface resistance of less than 0.08 ohms, and an IP54 rating for protection against dust and water splashes.
KIOXIA has begun testing new Universal Flash Storage 1 ver. 4.1 embedded memory devices featuring 4-bit-per-cell quad-cell (QLC) technology. Designed for read-intensive applications and high-capacity storage needs, the new devices incorporate KIOXIA's 8th generation BiCS FLASH™ 3D flash memory technology.
Quad-Level Cell (QLC) NAND flash memory stores 4 bits per cell, representing 16 distinct charge levels per cell. This technique enables higher storage density at a reduced cost per bit compared to memories with fewer bits per cell, such as TLC or MLC. However, QLC presents endurance and performance challenges that require addressing with advanced controllers, strong ECC, and sophisticated thermal management/firmware.
ROHM has developed the UCR10C series, which offers the industry's highest power rating for 2012-size shunt resistors (10 mΩ to 100 mΩ). (Fig. 1) Shunt resistors are essential for handling higher power in current sensing applications in both the automotive and industrial equipment markets. Furthermore, these markets are experiencing increasingly stringent requirements for high-reliability connections.
Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announces the expansion of its 193 PUR-SI series of miniature snap-in power aluminum electrolytic capacitors with new voltage ratings of 550 V and 600 V. Vishay BCcomponents devices offer up to 30% higher ripple current than standard solutions in similar package sizes, along with a longer service life.
