RECOM electronic fuses distribute a 24V supply voltage to four separately controlled load channels, each with a current load capacity of 5A or 10A. To prevent high inrush currents, each load channel is connected sequentially with a programmed delay. The integrated soft-start function allows loads to be connected and disconnected during operation (hot-swapping, hot-connecting).
A low-voltage lockout (UVLO) with integrated power-on hysteresis prevents problems caused by insufficient supply voltage at startup and increases the availability of the entire system.
Each channel supplies up to 150% of its maximum rated current for 5 seconds to handle high inductive or capacitive inrush currents.
In the event of a system overload, the channels are disconnected one after the other, prioritizing the most critical load last. During a sustained short circuit or overload lasting more than 5 seconds, the electronic fuse safely disconnects the affected load without impacting the other channels.
Thanks to a special output circuit, each channel can safely ramp up to its set nominal current against very high capacitive loads up to 20 mF.
A DIP switch allows the outputs to be switched to "hiccup" or lockout mode. A key lock function prevents accidental disconnection of the load or alteration of the set current values during operation.
Paired input terminals and separate load terminals (+, -) allow for easy daisy-chaining without additional terminal blocks or load wiring.
The DC-oK signal, in conjunction with remote reset, monitors the operation of individual load channels and allows for selective reset in case of a fault.
Combined with daisy-chaining, more complex systems with many protected loads can be monitored and secured. RACPRO1-4SP electronic fuses are thus easily integrated into programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and standard SCADA systems.
The components are covered by a three-year warranty. Samples and prices from original manufacturers are available at all authorized distributors or directly from RECOM.
