Balluff's magnetic linear encoder systems consist of a sensing head and a magnetically coded tape with alternating polarity up to 48 meters in length. The sensing head moves along the tape at a distance of 0.35 mm.
The new BML S1F features the smallest sensor head of any linear encoder system currently available. All electronic components are housed in a compact and robust metal enclosure.
You can choose between an interpolated square wave digital output (5V RS422) or a 1Vpp real-time sinusoidal analog output. The resolution reaches 1 µm with a system accuracy of up to ±10 µm. Measurement speeds of up to 20 m/s are permitted.
Because the system is magnetic, it is also insensitive to temperature changes, dirt, and contamination from dust and oil, and is wear-free. Furthermore, it offers high EMC protection.
