Like other solutions in the RS PRO range, this new all-in-one handheld device has been designed to combine durability and reliability with excellent value for money. Its applications are broad, ranging from smart manufacturing in the industrial automation sector to general electrical tasks such as testing sockets and lighting during safety audits in businesses and home renovations.

The RS-9889 combines the functions of a digital multimeter (measuring circuit parameters such as voltages, currents, and resistances) with an infrared thermal camera that allows you to identify hot and cold spots on electrical components using a visible thermogram.

The RS-9889 thermal imaging device features a crosshair tuning fork with maximum, minimum, and center ranges, helping users easily identify and measure the required temperature ranges. Its Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) connection enables instant sharing of thermal images with other devices via the Thermview+ app. The 2.8-inch color TFT LCD screen boasts an infrared resolution of 80 x 80 pixels, a 21° x 21° field of view, less than 0.1°C/100mK thermal sensitivity (NETD, or temperature difference equivalent to noise), a fast thermal imaging frequency of 50 Hz, an object temperature range of 20° to 260°C, a spectral range of 8–14 μm, and an accuracy of ±2°C, or ±2% of the reading.

The versatile RS-9889 also functions as a diode, resistance, and continuity tester with an audible alert, and can measure temperatures up to 1,000°C using a type K thermocouple probe. AC and AC+DC voltages and currents are true RMS.

Thanks to its lightness (weighing only 540 grams) and its small dimensions of 80 x 58 x 195 mm, the new RS-9889 is also a very portable device that allows users to take it anywhere to work comfortably.

The RS-9889 digital multimeter with thermal imaging camera is now available from RS for the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions.
