“Integrating Leuze’s camera-based DCR 200i barcode reader utilizes our standard mobile application infrastructure, enabling these industrial sensors to automatically capture the same information as iPhone or Android devices anywhere in the supply chain,” says Mark Manning, founder and CEO of iTRACE. “This means that any system can now automatically participate in tracking, locating, and authenticating any product or component and send data to a blockchain or tracking database via the iTRACE Blockchain Gateway.”.

Using the Leuze iTRACE 2DMI® and DCR 200i, the scanned object can be securely identified. The transaction is recorded using digital ledger technologies such as blockchain. This enables a secure connection between the physical product and the digital ledger, allowing the use of applications for tracking or authentication. The key to the application's security lies in its ability to create a digital duplicate of the physical product to ensure that the original object is being scanned at each location.

“Leuze has recognized that iTRACE 2DMI® provides a much higher level of security and damage resistance than QR codes, Data Matrix, and 1D barcodes,” says Joerg Woerner, Business Development Director at Leuze. “This makes the DCR 200i and 2DMI® the ideal combination for applications in harsh and demanding environments in the aerospace, automotive, and medical technology industries.”.
