Each kit combines a robust oToBrite GMSL2 camera adapter, based on the ADI/MAXIM MAX96724 deserializer, with the corresponding NVIDIA Jetson development kit in its original packaging. It also includes a microSD configuration card or a pre-configured Board Support Package (BSP) with NVIDIA JetPack 6.2 and oToCam sensor drivers, enabling quick installation on the included development kit.
Enablement kits allow for the rapid development of AI vision systems at the edge for applications ranging from autonomous delivery robots, unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) to autonomous systems for off-highway machinery used in curbside delivery, mining, agriculture and other heavy machinery environments.
By combining NVIDIA Jetson Orin development kits with robust multi-camera GMSL2 connectivity, synchronization support, and installation media that reduces driver integration work, the kits help teams start building, testing, and iterating faster.
Reducing friction in multi-camera system integration.
Many multi-camera vision programs stall due to integration difficulties such as:
robust cabling,
reliable synchronization, and
the driver work required to enable GMSL cameras on edge AI platforms.
oToBrite designed these plug-and-play kits to reduce setup time during initial development and field testing.
From Dev Kit to Robust Multi-Camera Vision Platform:
Each kit is designed to create a compact, self-contained development unit. It utilizes a specially designed bracket that allows the oToBrite adapter to be attached to the Jetson development kit.
The adapter connects to the development kit via either
a standard 22-pin MIPI-CSI connector or
a 120-pin High-Speed Ground Plane Terminal Strip connector.
GMSL2 cameras connect via standard FAKRA serial connectors.
Designed for Moving Machines: Synchronized Multi-Camera Vision.
For multi-camera applications, the kits support internal or external frame synchronization options, helping to align camera inputs for tasks such as:
perception
mapping, and
sensor fusion from multiple perspectives.
The automotive-grade design is intended for demanding mobile environments and includes:
wide power input of 12V to 20V,
operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
This enables reliable performance during testing on vehicles and machinery using oToBrite automotive cameras.
Use cases
Typical scenarios include:
surround-view systems and blind spot detection for trucks and commercial vehicles,
multi-camera perception stacks for autonomous delivery robots,
sensor testing for off-highway machinery in construction or industrial environments.
The same approach can also be applied to multi-camera inspection and monitoring in industrial and field environments.
4 and 8 camera kit options with FAKRA connectors
The oToAdapter-GMSL-Orin-Nano kit supports up to 4 GMSL2 cameras via four FAKRA connectors.
The oToAdapter-GMSL-AGX-Orin kit supports up to 8 GMSL2 cameras via two FAKRA connectors.
To simplify setup, the kits include an installation package with:
NVIDIA JetPack 6.2
sensor drivers, oToCam
drivers, and SerDes (serializer/deserializer).
Unlike USB or Ethernet cameras, integrating GMSL cameras typically requires platform-level driver work. With the included image, developers can install the stack in the development kit and begin testing oToCam GMSL2 cameras directly, reducing manual portability work.
Automotive-grade cameras for autonomy and robotics programs.
The kits are designed to work in conjunction with oToBrite's automotive-grade oToCam camera modules for outdoor autonomy and mobile robotics applications.
The oToCam portfolio includes sensors ranging from
1 MP to 8 MP
with multiple viewing angles.
The modules are manufactured using active alignment and can be supplied with rugged housings with optional IP67/IP69K ratings. Intrinsic calibration services are also available upon request.
oToBrite's automotive-grade cameras are manufactured in an IATF 16949-certified facility with a Class 1K cleanroom.
These cameras have already been adopted in automotive OEM programs in Japan, Germany, and the United States, including heavy-duty off-road vehicles.
Why GMSL2 for demanding mobile environments:
GMSL2 (Gigabit Multimedia Serial Link) is ideal for multi-camera AI vision systems on moving machines because it provides a robust, single-cable serial link, simplifying cabling over practical distances while maintaining sufficient bandwidth for high-quality video.
Combined with standard FAKRA connectors, it enables the construction of camera systems capable of withstanding vibration, heat, and the limitations of real-world cabling in vehicles—a critical factor in autonomy and safety testing.
