Equipped with multi-color illumination and an autofocus lens, the FHV7 series can flexibly respond to changes in the color and size of the objects being inspected. This eliminates the need for specialized knowledge in camera setup and adjustment to suit different products and inspection criteria, even on a flexible production line where many different types of products are produced in varying quantities. Furthermore, fast image processing and a 12-megapixel camera, providing best-in-class resolution, enable greater inspection accuracy and increased production quality without sacrificing speed. Adding to these features is a high-speed image compression algorithm that compresses inspection images faster than normal, ensuring that all image data is saved even during measurement, and providing complete traceability of production processes where quality control is critical.
The FHV7 series offers the same level of image processing capability as the FH series sensor controller, but in a design that is one-quarter the size. This is achieved by integrating Omron's high-speed, high-precision image processing technology with the high-speed, high-resolution compact camera design technology provided by Omron SENTECH, acquired in July 2017.
Characteristics
1. A single camera for inspecting multiple products.
Multi-color lighting provides a quick solution to the problem of measuring different colors. When the product design is modified or a new model is added, only one parameter needs to be changed instead of replacing or adjusting the lighting.
The image sensor with up to 12 megapixels enables high-precision inspections of larger areas. This eliminates the need to install multiple cameras or a mechanism to move a camera to capture different inspection points on different models on the same production line. This reduces design work and component costs.
The autofocus lens covers a focal length range of 59 to 2000 mm*. Even when manufacturing products of different sizes, the focus range can be easily adjusted via parameters. This eliminates the need for a camera movement mechanism, reducing design work and component costs.
2. Modular structure for a wide range of applications.
The modular structure allows for free combination of lenses and lighting with the camera.
The camera's size is not affected by module replacement, reducing design and maintenance work.
3. Increased production quality without sacrificing cycle time.
The dual-core CPU provides the fastest image processing speed available in smart cameras—four times faster than before. Production cycle time can be maintained even with increased resolution or the addition of inspection elements.
High-speed recording, which allows measurements to be taken while image data is being saved, and high-speed data compression enable complete traceability.
* The focus range varies depending on the lens type.
