Required reading speed, enclosures tailored to each application, available space parameters, different marking technologies… considering these secondary requirements across various sectors, it's easy to understand just how different the demands placed on industrial identification technology can be. SICK gathered the diverse requirements of its customers through conversations with users from very different fields. For this reason, “smart, simple, and industrial” is the motto that inspires the LECTOR® 620 series image-processing code readers and is equally valid for all LECTOR® variants: the basic “Eco” variant, “Standard,” suitable for quickly implementing universal applications, “High Speed,” for high-speed solutions in, among other things, packaging or document processing, and “DPM” for directly applied markings.
Smaller is better: its compact metal housing with IP65 protection (optionally IP67) is up to two-thirds smaller than most 2D barcode readers. A 43 x 67 mm² field of view provides a depth of field of 50 mm at a reading distance of 100 mm. One of the standout features of the LECTOR® 620 series is its real-time decoding of all captured images at a frequency of 60 Hz, which improves decoding performance and allows for the rapid detection and elimination of reading problems.
The LECTOR® 620 barcode readers are simple and intuitive to use. In addition to a laser alignment aid, other user-friendly features include one-button parameterization and an on-device LED display. Depending on your requirements, you can also configure various operating levels in the user interface. The LECTOR® 620 series supports a wide range of IT integration methods: Ethernet TCP/IP, FTP, Ethernet IP, Profinet, CAN, RS232/422/485, USB, and digital I/O. All necessary data interfaces are available.
