This system combines the proven electronics of the AlertAlarm A-Series with a robust, corrosion-resistant, marine-grade LM6 aluminum alloy housing, providing enhanced mechanical and UV protection. The D112 has a maximum SPL of 119 dB(A) @ 1m under a nominal fire alarm system operating voltage of 24VDC; CPR compliance is valid for operation from 18 to 30VDC. The 48VDC version is also compliant. VdS approval covers the five most commonly used fire alarm warning tones and also confirms that the units operate within specification under dry and humid heat, shock, and vibration conditions. The aluminum housing meets Environmental Category B standards, making it suitable for outdoor installation, and supports the expansion of a fire detection system to areas beyond the relatively benign office environment, thereby improving safety. Other tests include EMC, SO2 corrosion resistance, and water and dust ingress.
UL-approved versions for general signaling use are also available. For this version, the aluminum housing is sealed to IP66, NEMA Type 4, 4X, and 3R standards.
For use in a wide range of signaling applications, the AlertAlarm D112 offers a selection of 45 different alarm tones. With the option of triggering a second or third tone via additional control wires, it is a sophisticated and cost-effective signaling solution that offers the versatility of multiple tones from a single unit. It is also available as part of the DL112X, in which the horn alarm is integrated with a 5-Joule Xenon strobe, or as the DL112H combination unit, where the horn alarm is combined with a high-intensity, 24-unit LED matrix beacon.
