Omron OS32C Type 3 safety laser scanners provide compact and versatile presence detection to protect machine operators and factory personnel. With an integrated Ethernet interface, the scanners allow for easy configuration via a remote computer. Supervisors can monitor status from the workstation and analyze the causes of emergency stops, helping to improve safety practices and reporting. Multiple OS32Cs can be connected to the LAN and monitored individually.
Each sensor provides a safety zone with a radius of up to 4 meters and two warning zones with a radius of up to 15 meters. They can trigger an audible alarm, a speed control signal, or an emergency stop if the zone's conditions are violated. They are also capable of monitoring direction and can detect intrusions from both sides thanks to their wide 270° detection angle.
The OS32C consists of a removable sensor block and an I/O block, which stores the configuration. This allows for quick and easy replacement of damaged sensors without reprogramming. The I/O block is available with rear or side cable entry for greater flexibility. The sensors, which are 104.5 mm in diameter, weigh 1.3 kg, and consume only 5 W when active and 3.75 W in standby mode, are easy to handle and install. The necessary cables and mounting brackets are also available from RS Online.
