ksp-enclave-wThe KSP is a spring-loaded version of the Castell K-lock, using an internal spring to automatically extend the locking bolt to its maximum length when circumstances permit. This key-operated interlock is suitable for securely locking simple drive mechanisms.
The KSP is typically used at the start of a process and locks the key in place during equipment operation. When the equipment is placed in safe mode and the drive mechanism opening is aligned, the spring-loaded bolt automatically extends and locks into position. This offers an advantage over bolt locks, as it is immediately engaged without manual intervention.
Once the equipment is in safe mode, the key is released and can be used to access or initiate a separate process. The key must be inserted and turned to retract the bolt and allow the drive lever to be moved again.
Paul Marks, Technical Director at Castell, commented: “We were already using a spring-loaded locking mechanism in other products in our range, and we realized that this device could offer considerable advantages to our customers in other areas. In our opinion, the KSP is an important addition to our existing range of K-bolt interlocks.”
