The new platform strengthens IPTE's separation product range by offering manufacturers a standalone, versatile solution for PCB separation. The MultiRouter is available with a single process head or in a dual-head configuration, allowing for optimization of the panel separation process based on specific product and throughput requirements. A single-head system can be configured for milling or sawing. The dual-head version can be equipped with two milling heads or a combination of milling and sawing, increasing productivity and process flexibility.
The MultiRouter utilizes a fast and flexible dual-drawer concept for the efficient loading and unloading of PCB panels up to 550 x 600 mm. For larger formats, the two drawers can be combined into a single processing zone, enabling the separation of panels up to 1,160 x 600 mm while maintaining precise product positioning throughout the process.
With a separation accuracy of ±0.1 mm (5 sigma), the MultiRouter is suitable for a wide range of electronic assemblies. The system offers camera-assisted learning, visual programming of milling paths, cutter breakage detection, and tool life monitoring, helping operators maintain consistent product quality while minimizing setup times and process variability.
Operation and configuration are managed through IPTE’s TS1 software platform, which features a user-friendly, multilingual human-machine interface (HMI). The software allows operators to quickly create and modify board separation programs, adjust process parameters, and perform product changeovers with minimal effort.
“With the MultiRouter, we are further expanding our board separation product portfolio with a platform that combines flexibility, precision, and productivity,” says Tom Vanderstraeten, Business Development Manager for Board Separation at IPTE. “Customers can configure the system for milling, sawing, or a combination of both technologies, while the optional dual-head configuration enables a significant increase in throughput. Combined with support for large PCB panels and advanced clamping options, the MultiRouter offers a future-proof solution for a wide range of board separation applications.”
To further enhance operational flexibility, the platform can be equipped with a number of productivity-enhancing options, including automatic clamping pin placement for magnetic fixtures, automatic bit changing, traceability software, barcode and data matrix reading, fixture identification, and compatibility with existing IPTE EasyRouter, TopRouter, or MidRangeRouter fixtures.
