By integrating with Honeywell's Experion PKS system, Experion MX simplifies operations, allowing factory operators to control critical functions—such as process control, safety, and security—through a single software platform. This reduces training requirements and provides easy access to the entire system, including the factory production plan and individual process control loops.
“Experion MX was developed to be more than just a measurement and control platform; it was designed to improve business performance,” says Jack Ross, director of global business for the pulp and paper industry at Honeywell. “Given the challenging economic climate, paper mills need to analyze existing technologies to determine if they can increase the efficiency and profitability of their operations. All of these qualities are reflected in Experion MX, which simplifies system installation and operation, increases operational and maintenance efficiency, and minimizes the total cost of ownership.”.
Experion MX reduces operating and maintenance costs thanks to its redesigned scanner and new modular sensors, which are easy to install and require fewer spare parts. It also includes new planning and diagnostic tools designed to minimize unplanned downtime and anticipate parts and labor requirements. The combination of flexible operating plans, a new operator interface, and unique sensors allows Experion MX to increase factory operating efficiency by up to 5% and production by up to 10%. It also reduces raw material consumption by up to 3%.
Experion MX includes integrated process performance analysis systems, such as web inspection, web monitoring, and situation monitoring, to easily pinpoint the causes of breakdowns and defects and the source of process disparity, enabling more efficient production with less waste.
