With a wide range of current probe clamps, built-in data logging, and measurements compliant with IEC 6100-4-30 Class S standard, the CW500 is a multifunction instrument designed to assist in power quality inspection and maintenance in factories, commercial facilities, and public buildings. Specifically, it detects, measures, and records events such as surges, overvoltages, sags or interruptions, inrush currents, harmonic distortion, and flicker, all of which can adversely affect equipment operation or energy efficiency.
The 4-channel instrument can measure multiple power lines in configurations from 1P/2W to 3P/4W and simultaneously measures AC voltage input on all three channels, current input on all four channels, and DC voltage input on two channels. Measured parameters include instantaneous, average, and maximum/minimum voltage, current, DC input voltage, power, power factor, and phase angle, along with advanced phase calculation capabilities.
All measurements are displayed on the color screen as a list, waveform, or trend format, directly controlled by the keyboard. Active, reactive, and apparent power integration values are each shown for consumption and generation, and the power demand value can be continuously monitored via graphical displays comparing power consumption to the expected power demand value.
Intermittent voltage anomalies such as swells, dips, interruptions, overvoltage, transients, and inrush currents are each saved as events and marked on the waveform, with the corresponding fault type indicated for each event. Other factors such as harmonics, flicker, and voltage and current imbalance values are recorded with the waveforms as required.
The CW500 operates with an AC input voltage range of 6 to 1000V and a DC input voltage range of 100mV to 10V. Current ranges are from 2A (for leakage currents) to 3000A, with intermediate ranges of 50A, 100A, 200A, 500A, and 1000A depending on the current probe used. Power measurement accuracy is 0.3% of the reading.
Up to 2GB of memory is provided via an SD card, and communication is via a USB interface, enabling real-time management of measurements. PC software (CW500 Viewer) provides analysis of saved data and report generation, including automatic graph creation, as well as simple management of the main unit's settings.
The CW500 is a compact and lightweight instrument measuring 175 × 120 × 68 mm and weighing 900 g including batteries. It can be powered via AC or by six LR6 batteries.
