The new Raspberry Pi V2 is available in two versions: the V2 Daylight model, which can be purchased individually or in a pack of 150 units, and the V2 PiNoir infrared camera, also available in a pack. Because it lacks an infrared filter on its sensor, the new PiNoir V2 is perfect for capturing images in low-light conditions.

It's very easy to use and its features are suitable for both beginners and advanced users. It has 8 megapixels (previous models were 5 MP) and is useful for various applications such as home security, botany, and wildlife observation.

Its integrated Sony IMX219PQ high-sensitivity CMOS image sensor offers 1080p, 720p60, and VGA90 video. Furthermore, advanced features allow for noise and distortion reduction, automatic gain control (AGC), and automatic white balance (AWB).

It can be connected to all Pi models with a 15 cm ribbon cable that is inserted into the module's slot and then directly into the CSI-2 port. Once connected, the camera can be accessed through the Multi-Media Abstraction Layer (MMAL), the Video for Linux APIs (V4L), or even using libraries like Python's Picamera.

Other important specifications include the maximum supported resolution of 3280 x 2464 pixels, dimensions of 23.86 (L) x 25 (W) x 9 mm (H), and an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +60 °C.
