Founded in 1966 in Brest, France, SDMO became part of the international Kohler Group in 2005 and changed its name to KOHLER-SDMO in 2016 to reflect its role within Kohler's global network. Renesas Electronics Corporation has announced the completion of its acquisition of Steradian Semiconductors Private Limited (“Steradian”), a factory-less semiconductor company offering 4D imaging radar solutions, effective October 17, 2022.
Based in Bengaluru, India, Steradian is a startup founded in 2016 that provides radar solutions enabling highly accurate and energy-efficient object recognition in a small chip size. Radar is a vital technology for ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), which uses a complex array of sensors in vehicles to detect objects.

The Advanced Group for Non-linear Modeling and Simulation of Solids develops a metamaterial that changes its mechanical properties without morphologically varying at the cell level.
The invention, registered as a national patent with the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office under number ES2907514 A1, is entitled “Metamaterial unit cell and material formed from said unit cell.” It is a new type of metamaterial capable of changing its auxetic properties with a small internal geometric variation, without requiring a morphological change at the cell level.
