Jerez Montealto is a photovoltaic power generation project located in the municipality of Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz. It will cover approximately 100 hectares and consist of more than 103,500 installed modules. With this infrastructure, it will generate a peak installed capacity of 57.7 MWp and an annual production of over 120,000 MWh, equivalent to the energy consumption of 34,460 homes each year. Construction is scheduled to begin in November of this year and is expected to take four months to complete.
Following a similar construction and implementation timeline, the Guillena Santos project will begin this October and is scheduled for completion in six months. It is also a photovoltaic power generation facility located in the Sevillian municipality of Guillena, where Ansasol has already completed a larger and more powerful installation. This particular facility boasts an installed capacity of 11 MWp, 11 MVA of installed inverter capacity, and 10 MW of grid connection capacity. With its nearly 25,000 modules spread across 26 hectares, it is projected to generate 28,100 MWh annually, enough to power 8,060 homes each year.
In total, the energy produced by these two photovoltaic parks would be equivalent to saving 26 million cubic meters (m3) of natural gas. This is another way to assess the importance of this installation for the regions where it is located, by illustrating the amount of gas that would no longer be consumed in combined cycle power plants for electricity generation. It is precisely this process that is increasing gas consumption and, consequently, electricity prices in the market.
Tobias Greiling, CEO and co-founder of Ansasol, firmly believes in the company's commitment to renewable energy: “Photovoltaic energy is leading the decarbonization of Western economies, both in countries more prone to sunny climates like Spain, but also in Germany, for example, which has even more installed capacity than Spain, and now everything indicates that this trend will continue to rise as the search for new energy sources and the development of renewables to combat climate change and geopolitical tensions has accelerated.”
