This instrument, called LEVALIGN Expert, measures the leveling, flatness, and parallelism of surfaces, which play a crucial role in key industrial sectors such as wind turbine, shipbuilding, and rail manufacturing, among others. It is a tool that will enable companies to achieve significant savings in machinery usage, particularly by preventing problems caused by stress, vibration, or deformation.
System Operation:
The measurement system consists of the LEVALIGN Expert laser and sensor assembly, which communicates wirelessly with the ROTALIGN Ultra II computer to define the points to be measured and the planes to be compared. This computer displays the information in 3D for more efficient understanding and evaluation of the results. Subsequently, the Alignment Center software transfers the data and analyzes the measurements to generate detailed diagnoses and reports.
This process can be carried out by a single person, since the laser range is 200 meters in diameter and the horizontal and vertical leveling is automatic, which leads to a significant time saving compared to other measurement systems.
Industrial Application
: Leveling is a fundamental factor to consider to avoid problems in any industrial setting. In the energy sector, according to Herguedas, “when assembling wind turbines, the parallelism between the nacelle (the part behind the blades), the anchoring flange, and the ground must be perfect. Otherwise, the structure could even collapse.”
On the other hand, in the machine tool sector, which manufactures parts from computer-generated patterns, the use of this product also promotes environmental protection by saving raw materials that would otherwise be wasted due to poor manufacturing. According to the representative of PRÜFTECHNIK Spain, “If the worktable and machining arms are not level with each other or with respect to the center of gravity, all the parts can be defective, resulting in unusable production and significant financial losses for OEMs or equipment manufacturers.”.
LEVALIGN Expert is also a suitable system for the naval sector, when leveling the motor beds of propulsion engines, as well as for the railway sector, in rail parallelism, and for any industry that requires adequate precision in the leveling of motor beds.
