The measuring instrument features a 4–20 mA analog output and two galvanically isolated relay outputs with integrated test functions for alarm activation.
The PFSX transmitter can measure pressures between 0–1 and 0–400 bar with an accuracy of ±0.5% of the range. It incorporates a four-digit red LED display (8 mm high) and allows for the setting of two values. It can also be programmed on-site without the need for other instruments. All parameters are password protected. SIL2 certification
is based on a 98% safety factor failure (SFF) and a hardware fault tolerance (HFT) of 0. The sensor architecture ensures the safety required by SIL2 without the need for two pressure switches for redundancy. The pressure transmitter, in its ATEX Ex ia IIC T5/T6 and ATEX II 1G certified versions, can also be used in potentially explosive atmospheres.
The IEC 61508 standard defines basic safety requirements, both for when the system is functioning correctly and in the event of a foreseeable failure. These requirements range from system safety to process configuration in accordance with safety standards, including the specific design of the product. Their purpose is, among other things, to prevent systematic design flaws and occasional hardware errors.
