The new tool, Print Param Decision Assist, automatically inspects the board file upon upload to calculate ideal screen printing parameters and troubleshoot existing setups. After evaluating board dimensions, component types, solder paste type, screen thickness, and critical aperture dimensions, the tool generates all necessary settings, including system pressure, print speed, squeegee angle, and cleaning frequency. The simple and intuitive graphical user interface allows users to confirm settings and make fine adjustments.

“We offer customers a dedicated print expert ready to support every new idea with time-saving assistance, recommendations, and double-checking,” says Shuichi Imai, General Manager of Sales for Europe at Yamaha Robotics’ SMT division. “Operators of all experience levels, from seasoned SMT assembly production veterans to new team members, can now instantly access process expertise and get it right the first time when working with Yamaha printers.”

Print Param Decision Assist is available in the latest release of YSUP-PG, the machine programming environment of Yamaha's YSUP smart factory software. Known for accelerating process optimization and preventing errors during new product introduction (NPI), its release expands the range of YSUP's intelligent and empowered tools that help customers increase end-of-line efficiency and performance. These include recent enhancements to the Visual Data Editor and AutoTeach component assembly, which speeds up product changeovers.

The YSUP suite is the primary environment for comprehensive management of assembly with Yamaha SMT equipment, including scheduling, line and factory level planning, real-time production monitoring, traceability, and interaction with enterprise-level planning tools.
