By accepting large and heavy boards up to 810mm x 742mm and 10kg, the Pick&Place Z:LEX YSM20W extends Yamaha's High-Efficiency Modular concept to meet new opportunities in sectors such as LED lighting, digital signage, renewable energy, and automotive electrification. The machine has a maximum assembly speed of 80,000 cph and works with Yamaha's High-speed Multi (HM) and Flexible Multi (FM) Pick&Place heads to mount components from 0.3015 to 55mm x 55mm and 28mm high. The dual-lane 2x W356mm capacity gives owners extra flexibility to maximize production and support diverse assembly.
The YSi-V 12M TypeHS 3D inspection system becomes the flagship of Yamaha's AOI range. With advancements such as faster projector response times for 3D joint inspections and increased image processing capabilities, the new 12-megapixel system is 25% faster in 3D inspection time than the current YSi-V 12M TypeS. Like all Yamaha YSi-V systems, the new YSi-V 12M TypeHS delivers high-speed, high-resolution 2D inspections, 3D height and slope surface inspections, and 4D tilt image inspections, with multiple individual wavelength illumination modes that enhance defect detection.
iProDB, also revealed for the first time in Europe at SMT Hybrid Packaging, provides storage and inspection analysis results for assessing the condition of Yamaha equipment, both for screen printing and in-line pick-and-place systems. This allows for the identification of opportunities to improve quality through process optimization and product design enhancements. iProDB is available free of charge to owners of any YSi-V system.
The newly launched equipment expands Yamaha's portfolio of online solutions, which includes screen printing, dispensing, pick-and-place, special assembly, optical and X-ray 3D inspection systems, advanced robotic assemblers, scheduling and monitoring software, and a wide selection of productivity boosters such as self-calibrating loaders, stacked-stick feeders, and mobile applications that send alerts such as the number of parts remaining and the traffic light status to operators anywhere on the network.
