The new, compact, and discreet GORE® PolyVent XS fan offers designers greater freedom thanks to the optimization of three critical dimensions:
• A smaller diameter (only 11.2 mm) makes it easier to mount the GORE® PolyVent XS in smaller cases, especially those with tighter installation tolerances. This frees up space on the outside of the case for adding heatsinks or other performance enhancements.
• A lower height when installed (4.5 mm) means the fan protrudes less, allowing cases to fit in very tight spaces and making them less vulnerable to mechanical impacts.
• A shorter thread (7 mm) means the fan is inserted less into the case, offering more flexibility in internal component configuration. The shorter thread length also allows for thinner case walls, reducing weight and material costs.

The GORE® PolyVent XS element is the first screw-on vent in the series to incorporate the new UL 94 V-0 listed GORE™ membrane. Combined with the UL94 V-0 listed body, cap, and O-ring materials, this innovation provides complete flame resistance. This adds a layer of safety to high-value telecommunications and lighting products and can even save manufacturers the time and expense of flameproofing tests.
It meets stringent industry standards, including random vibration testing (IEC 60068-2-64 and ETSI EN 300 019-2-2) and UV degradation resistance testing (UL 746C). Its screw-on design also ensures a secure and durable fit to the housing.
The ePTFE GORE™ membrane provides long-lasting oleophobic and hydrophobic protection. Thanks to a normal air flow rate of up to 300 ml/minute (dp = 70 mbar), the new element provides fast and reliable pressure equalization in outdoor housings up to two liters, while meeting IP66, IP67 and IP68 specifications (one hour immersion at a depth of two meters).
