Its arrival allows assemblers to maximize defect detection without sacrificing cycle time, as the reduction in component size, component density in assembly, and fine-pitch interconnections demand a combination of 3D, 2D, and multi-angle inspection for optimal outcome confidence. Other improvements in the YSi-V 12M TypeHS include an enhanced image processing subsystem, as well as improved four-way image capture response for better shape detection.
The arrival of the YSi-V 12M TypeHS strengthens manufacturers' ability to implement all aspects of in-line inspection in high-production environments. With this new machine added to the assembly line, customers can now choose from six different AOI specification systems to establish the optimal inspection speed and resolution of either 12MP or 5MP to suit a wide range of budgets and manufacturing requirements.
An added bonus comes with Yamaha's new iProDB inspection history management software, which is available on demand, free of charge, to all users of AOI YSi-V systems. iProDB reinforces Yamaha's position as a manufacturer for the complete line of surface mount equipment by combining inspection data with status information from the mounting and screen printing units on the same line, thus assisting with manufacturing design, process improvement, production management, and equipment maintenance.
The new machines will be displayed at the Yamaha Motor IM stand, 7-220, at SMT Hybrid Packaging 2016 in Nuremberg from April 26-28.
