Furthermore, the Z:LEX YSM20W is based on a Z:LEX architecture that significantly increases PCB adaptability, allowing for the handling of extra-large PCB sizes up to 810 x 742 mm. The YSM20W is the largest dual-lane machine with a board width of 2 x 356 mm.

The new Z:LEX YSM20W was showcased at the 45th INTERNEPCON JAPAN trade show for electronics and surface mount technology (SMT) manufacturers on January 13-15, 2016 in Tokyo.

In recent years, miniaturization, high component density, high functionality, and diversification, along with reduced production cycles, have grown rapidly for a variety of products such as consumer electronics, personal computers, and mobile phones. Along with increased speed and the flexibility to efficiently accommodate varying production levels, from small-scale to mass production on the same line, are requirements in the assembly process of electronic components for these types of products.

A new addition to the Z:LEX series, the YSM20W, offers flexibility and efficiency across various production methods without requiring printhead changes, thanks to its "one-head solution." This new model is a wide-frame version of the modular Z:LEX YSM20, delivering high speed and versatility. It can now handle extra-large PCBs for automotive, industrial, medical, power device, and LED lighting applications, among others, thanks to its significantly increased adaptability to different PCB sizes and weights. Furthermore, the dual-lane specification provides advantages for dual-lane mass production, enabling it to handle not only small mobile PCB jobs but also larger-than-average PCBs.

From high-speed mass production to highly versatile multi-product manufacturing, Yamaha Motor is completing its surface mount assembly line to meet evolving market demands. Here, Yamaha Motor leverages its comprehensive surface mount line, including tin paste screen printing equipment, dispensers, and testing systems, to achieve quality and efficiency improvements across all product types. This is accomplished through in-line solutions that foster synergies between the various assembly teams.
