The Arm AGI CPU, based on the Arm Neoverse® Compute Subsystem (CSS) V3 platform, is designed to deliver high-performance computing and energy efficiency for agentive AI and cloud data center deployments. Siemens’ Veloce™ Strato CS hardware-assisted verification platform was used to support verification of the Arm AGI CPU from the subsystem to the full system level, helping to address critical performance, latency, and power consumption targets for hyperscale deployments before tapeout. Arm leveraged Siemens’ hardware-
assisted verification (HAV), emulation, and prototyping solutions to address the complexity and performance demands of its Neoverse V-series Compute Subsystem (CSS), with workflows designed in collaboration with Arm to support the validation of key performance metrics for hyperscale deployments.
“The scale and complexity of modern AI computing platforms demand an enhanced level of verification,” said Karima Dridi, vice president of productivity engineering at Arm. “Siemens’ solutions enabled large-scale, full-system verification of Arm’s AGI CPU using multiple Veloce Strato CS towers, helping to ensure it meets the performance and efficiency requirements of hyperscale deployments.”
Arm’s AGI CPU represents a performance-per-watt leap forward for agentive AI and high-performance computing workloads. The complexity of multi-chip CSS designs incorporating Neoverse V-series cores, high-speed interconnects, PCIe Gen6, NVMe, and CXL demanded verification at a scale and with a fidelity that traditional EDA toolsets alone cannot deliver.
While Veloce Strato CS provided full-chip, large-scale verification, Siemens’ Veloce proFPGA CS prototyping platform accelerates pre-fabrication software development. By offering FPGA-based prototypes that operate at near real-time speeds, Veloce proFPGA CS enables software teams to begin validation, driver development, and system commissioning months before silicon is available. This helps ensure software is ready to meet aggressive silicon timelines and reduces the risk of missing critical hyperscalers deployment milestones.
“Arm’s AGI CPU exemplifies the engineering ambition driving innovation in agentive AI,” said Jean-Marie Brunet, senior vice president and general manager of Hardware-Assisted Verification at Siemens Digital Industries Software. “Working with Arm helps ensure Siemens’ verification technology can verify complete Neoverse CSS subsystems on a full SoC model, with industry-leading performance and channel bandwidth.” This achievement reflects our shared commitment to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in AI infrastructure and the ability of our solutions to scale alongside customers across the Arm ecosystem as they tackle increasingly complex architectural challenges.
Creating an ecosystem based on advanced verification:
Siemens' verification and deployment solutions integrate seamlessly into Arm's CPU design workflows, enabling rapid adoption with minimal disruption. It is critical that the same Veloce Strato CS technologies used to help develop Arm's AGI CPU are available to Arm licensees, SoC designers, and ecosystem partners, creating an ecosystem that accelerates innovation, reduces risk, and enables more predictable time to market across the agentive AI community.
For hyperscalers building custom chips on the Arm Neoverse CSS platform, access to similar verification technologies provides a pathway to achieving the trust required for gigawatt-scale deployment.
