The new FLIR ONE uses a microUSB connector for Android devices and a Lightning connector for iOS devices, offering a compact accessory that easily connects to a smartphone or tablet. Powered by an internal battery, the FLIR ONE utilizes FLIR's next-generation Lepton Core, which boasts four times the resolution of its predecessor. Images are further enhanced by FLIR's patented Multi-Spectral Dynamic Imaging (MSX®) technology, an innovative feature that reveals details invisible to the human eye and delivers high-quality thermographic images that capture even the subtlest details.
FLIR ONE offers the benefits of thermography to a wide range of users, including construction engineers, machinery maintenance technicians, facility managers, development engineers, security personnel, students, and consumers. FLIR has also announced the release of an updated Software Development Kit (SDK) for iOS and a new SDK for Android, enabling developers to design and launch creative applications for both smartphone environments. The FLIR ONE app can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Other thermal imaging apps are available that offer features such as time-lapse, panoramic views, and creative image editing.
As an introduction to low-cost thermal imaging, FLIR ONE joins RS Components' range of professional thermal imaging solutions from FLIR Systems, which includes the popular C2, E4, and other FLIR E-Series cameras, as well as accessories including tripod adapters, cases, viewfinders, and a vehicle adapter kit. Since adding the FLIR Systems range in March 2015, RS has consistently achieved high sales volumes, particularly for the C2 camera.
