This development kit boasts a wide range of features and connectors for embedded and edge applications. It offers DisplayPort 1.4 interfaces supporting up to 8K video, MIPI connectors for cameras and mobile device displays, and LPDDR4 memory for efficient performance. The kit enables connectivity with additional peripherals and devices via Raspberry Pi hardware mounted on additional Top-of-the-Among Boards (HATs) and Pmod connectors.
A USB Blaster III is also included for FPGA programming and configuration, streamlining the development experience. The development kit is based on Altera's Agilex 3 FPGAs and FPGA SoCs. These FPGAs and FPGA SoCs deliver high performance for energy-efficient and cost-effective designs thanks to the Hyperflex™ FPGA architecture and advanced transceiver technology. The Agilex 3 devices also incorporate a novel, enhanced DSP (digital signal processing) with an AI tensor block. The AI tensor's capabilities allow developers to accelerate the computation of pre-trained AI models with lower power consumption and logic utilization compared to traditional FPGA fabric. Common applications include smart factory automation, electric vehicle charging, video processing, and medical imaging.
