The latest addition to the popular Zybo Arm® SoC/FPGA platform, the Zybo Z7 is a feature-rich, ready-to-use, high-level integrated circuit and digital software development platform for a wide range of applications, including robotics, embedded architecture, medical equipment, server backhaul products, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), and embedded vision.

Digilent Zybo Z7 development boards, available from Mouser Electronics, are based on the fully programmable Xilinx Z-7010 (Zybo Z7-10 board) and Z-7020 (Zybo Z7-20) SoC architectures (AP SoCs), which integrate a dual Arm Core Cortex®-A9 processor with Xilinx 7-series FPGA logic. Combined with their comprehensive suite of multimedia and connectivity peripherals, the Zybo Z7 development boards offer designers a flexible and cost-effective alternative to harness the massive processing power and expandability of the Zynq AP SoC architecture.

The Digilent Zybo Z7-20 has an internal FPGA that is three times larger than the Z7-10, resulting in additional features due to the extra FPGA pins. The Zybo Z7-20 also includes a heatsink for the additional FPGA resources. Both boards include a voucher for the SDSoC toolkit, which provides a C/C++ application development experience.

Both the Zybo Z7-10 and Z7-20 also come equipped with a comprehensive suite of multimedia and connectivity peripherals, creating an impressive single-board computer that is perfect for integrated circuit development. The video-capable feature set includes a MIPI CSI-2 compliant PCm connector, HDMI input, HDMI output, and high-bandwidth DDR3L memory. In addition, six Digilent Pmod™ connectors on the boards provide access to Digilent's catalog of Pmod peripheral modules, including motor drivers, displays, and sensors.
