With the addition of NXP's Kinetis family, the number of MCUs supported by mikroSDK 2.0 now exceeds 1,500, ranging from small 8-bit to 32-bit devices. Other notable product families covered include Microchip's PIC and PIC32, and STMicroelectronics' STM32 family, which boasts 849 devices. New devices and architectures are being added continuously.
Nebojsa Matic, Managing Director of MIKROE, commented: "Whether you're currently evaluating PICs, falling in love with ARM, or simply interested in a new architecture on the market, mikroSDK means your application code will run on the architecture of your choice. Choose any supported host board, and there's no need to change a single line of code."
mikroSDK 2.0 is a comprehensive, cross-platform software development kit for embedded applications that provides everything needed to start developing and prototyping, including Clickboard™ and GUIs for embedded devices. Rapid software development is easily achieved, as developers don't need to worry about low-level code, freeing them to focus on the application code itself. This means that changing the MCU or even the entire platform won't require developers to rewrite their code for the new MCU or platform. They can simply switch to the desired platform, apply the correct board definition file, and the application code will continue to work after a single build. Read the technical article here.
