This integration of MIKROE Click controllers makes it easier for embedded systems engineers using MIKROE peripheral Click boards to develop both the hardware and software of an embedded system based on Silicon Labs controllers.
Nebojsa Matic, CEO of MIKROE, stated: “Many integrated circuit manufacturers now include the mikroBUS socket standard on their development boards. This allows developers to test thousands of different Click peripheral boards, saving hardware costs and design time. Now, for the first time, one of the leading silicon suppliers, Silicon Labs, after including the mikroBUS socket in its very popular Explorer Kits, has added hardware driver extension support for the Click mikroSDK 2.0 drivers in its IDE, Simplicity Studio GSDK.”
This will allow designers using Silicon Labs SoCs/MCUs to easily include Click board libraries in their code. This means that engineers have not only saved time and money by using Click board hardware, but have also seamlessly tackled the software task. It's a true validation of our approach.".
Anders Pettesson, Consumer Marketing Director at Silicon Labs, added: “After collaborating with MIKROE on Click board projects and seeing the potential of the ecosystem, we decided to bring that flexibility and ease of use to the Silicon Labs environment. By creating the mikroSDK 2.0 Click driver extension, we have made it easier for embedded systems engineers to incorporate thousands of peripherals into Silicon Labs software projects.”
Matic concluded: “We are pleased to see that, following mikroBUS and Click boards, mikroSDK Click drivers are now also being used by the embedded systems industry and our partners. This is a testament to our commitment to standardization and time savings, which engineers and developers can rely on.”
