as well as gate drivers for controlling external N-channel MOSFETs to drive three-phase brushless DC (BLDC) and permanent magnet synchronous (PMSM) motors more efficiently.

This IC, now a core component of the MIKROE SmartMCD TB9M003FG board, can be conveniently designed for automotive applications such as electric pumps, fans, body control, and thermal management systems. The board includes an integrated inverter consisting of six small, AEC-Q101-certified MOSFETs for efficient power management. The SmartMCD TB9M003FG board can optionally be connected to external inverter boards to drive higher-power BLDC motors consuming several hundred watts.

The compact design of the SmartMCD TB9M003FG board, measuring 130 mm × 73 mm, includes all the necessary circuitry for motor control, switches, and potentiometers for functional testing. An integrated debug unit (based on Toshiba's TMPM067FWQG) complies with the CMSIS-DAP embedded emulator standard and enables operation, testing, and debugging of the target device.
