It also facilitates design through advanced verification. It uses simulations that address the need for rapid changeovers in production plants, shorter lead times for equipment development, high-precision assembly, and simultaneous commissioning of production lines in multiple plants.
The new Sysmac Studio 3D Simulation is available by adding optional simulation function licenses to the Sysmac Studio programming software for OMRON's flagship NJ/NX series automation controllers.
"Traditional simulators use specific software, which is expensive and requires specialized expertise. If the software and controller are different, it's difficult to ensure that the simulation results accurately reflect the actual operation of the machine," explains Josep Lario, Product Marketing Manager for Software, Industrial Computers, and Visualization at OMRON EMEA.
"This is the industry's first integrated development environment that controls and verifies robots and other peripheral equipment in a single operation. This improves the efficiency of plant design and reduces the time required for equipment performance confirmation, commissioning, and modifications," says Josep.
