Among the enhancements in SOLIDWORKS 2020 are:
• New Detail Mode and graphics acceleration for drawings: The new Detail Mode allows users to open their drawing in seconds, while still being able to add and edit annotations within the drawing. Detail Mode is especially useful when users need to make minor edits to drawings of large assemblies or drawings with many sheets, configurations, or resource-intensive views.
• Make parts flexible: This new capability allows users to display the same part in different conditions. For example, the same spring exists twice in the same assembly, but in two different states: compressed and uncompressed. Part flexibility is useful in various design applications, such as for springs, bellows, hinges, rings, and almost any part that can flex or change its condition.
• Enhancements to SOLIDWORKS PDM, SOLIDWORKS Electrical connector and the new SOLIDWORKS PCB connector enable complete electronic design and data management - including secure storage, indexing and versioning of all user data - while allowing closer collaboration between ECAD and MCAD teams.
With SOLIDWORKS 2020 and the 3DEXPERIENCE.WORKS portfolio of solutions, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform provides a growing set of cloud-based solutions that help manage all aspects of conceptual development, product design, manufacturing, and delivery. Solutions such as 3D Sculptor, which includes the xShape application (for sub-D modeling), 3D Creator, featuring the xDesign application (parametric modeling), 3D Component Designer (data management), Project Planner, and Structural Professional Engineer (advanced simulations), enable users to reduce friction in the design-to-manufacturing process.
As announced earlier this year at SOLIDWORKS World 2019, all of these cloud-based solutions will be part of the 3DEXPERIENCE.WORKS product portfolio, combining the power and breadth of the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform with the simplicity and ease of use of SOLIDWORKS.
