The new modeling and simulation capabilities reduce development time for research and design validation teams working in the early stages of prototyping and developing advanced multichannel application systems. Therefore, the design and verification of electronic warfare systems and powerful 5G MIMO systems are carried out more quickly, which in turn accelerates their deployment.
The newly integrated FPGA design workflow allows system architects and FPGA engineers to download custom algorithms to Agilent digitizers with built-in FPGAs using integrated template designs and proprietary blocks with push-button automatic programming. The predefined FPGA interface template simplifies the real-time co-simulation of custom algorithms in FPGA and high-level system modeling.
The W1462 SystemVue FPGA Architect software is part of the SystemVue simulation environment, Agilent's first platform for electronic system design. Updates to the W1462 software include:
flexible hardware design input with custom HDL and graphical schematic drawings using basic fixed-point blocks with a high level of abstraction;
- vendor-independent HDL code generation and co-simulation of HDL from other vendors; and
- a fully optimized and automated hardware deployment flow for high-performance advanced digitization.
“SystemVue bridges the gap between users’ high-performance algorithms and real-time measurement validation for multi-GHz, multi-channel applications such as 5G and electronic warfare systems,” said Frank Ditore, SystemVue Product Planner for EEsof EDA at Agilent. “This new capability accelerates test development and reduces the cost of proprietary hardware platforms with limited reach by leveraging commercially available, open, system-level EDA software interfaces and best-in-class test equipment.”.
