The WEG Scan Motor uses Industry 4.0 digital technology, including the Industrial Internet of Things, also known as IIoT and “Big Data Analytics”, to offer customers a competitive advantage in this dynamic and challenging business environment.
Available for housing sizes from 100 to 450, the WEG sensor measures motor vibration and temperature to detect anomalies. Easily mounted using a clamping device, the sensor measures vibration, surface temperature, and operating hours. In its next update, it will provide data on speed, start/stop time, load, and efficiency, all via Bluetooth. For ease of use, the collected data is stored in the cloud, and users can access it via an app, available for both iOS and Android devices, on their smartphone or tablet. Data can also be accessed via laptops and desktops by connecting to a dedicated web portal. Powerful analysis tools help process the data and detect potential faults or hidden problems based on frequency spectrum analysis. Alert levels can be pre-configured based on permissible temperature and vibration parameters, and the software can plot performance curves from the collected data.
Essentially, WEG's Motor Scan eliminates the monotony of manual data collection and monitoring, clarifies doubts in preventive maintenance, and prevents reactive maintenance.
