This unit combines the Lexium 32 servodrive and BMH servomotor ranges into a single system. The servodrive is not installed in the electrical cabinet, but directly on the machine, as it is integrated into the servomotor itself. This reduces installation effort and eliminates the need for shielded power and encoder cables, resulting in greater flexibility, less wiring, and energy savings.

Drive Monitor's safety functions allow for easy speed control of an AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle), even using encoders without safety certification. Furthermore, it's possible to switch between warning and protection modes for the laser safety scanners integrated into the vehicle's safety system and even monitor the AGV's electric braking.

Schneider Electric presents a new variable speed solution for its ATV32 range. This solution comprises the existing ATV32 drives and the new BMP synchronous motors without encoders, which are significantly more compact and efficient than IE2 and IE3 asynchronous motors. The ATV32 controls three-phase synchronous motors from 0.37 kW to 3 kW, with mains voltages from 230V single-phase to 500V three-phase, and at nominal speeds of 1500 and 3000 rpm.

The analog and mixed-signal semiconductor market is poised for significant evolution in the coming years. The Internet of Things—in which billions of objects (smart or otherwise) will have an IP address and be connected—offers abundant opportunities for devices and systems that sense, control, actuate, and communicate with the physical, and decidedly analog, world we inhabit. Another key trend, central to the collective consciousness of the entire electronics industry, is the demand for solutions that offer reduced power consumption and greater energy efficiency at the system level. Could the incursion of digital process technology into the esoteric field of analog chip design provide an answer to these strategic trends?
