Depending on the power, supply voltage, and motor speed, up to 20 different drive-motor combinations are possible. In addition, up to 15 different motor power cable options with integrated connectors are available, for various power ratings and wiring distances between the drive and motor (from 3 m to 50 m). The motors are supplied with 70, 100, and 140 mm flanges, a keyed shaft, and a standard IP65 protection rating.
Thanks to the drive-motor parameterization system, user adjustment is simplified via the SoMove software, used for the entire drive and starter platform. From SoMove, the installed motor is selected, and with a single click, all the synchronous motor's parameters are configured in the ATV32 drive. After issuing the start command, the drive is fully operational and calibrated for optimal performance. In a matter of microseconds, after each start command, the stator's magnetic field synchronizes with the permanent magnet rotor, ensuring the motor receives the precise current for the required torque at all times. This makes the drive up to 15% more energy-efficient than an asynchronous motor system. This system also enables torque control applications using a synchronous motor, providing greater precision and linearity compared to an asynchronous motor.
