In 2022, the aerogel market took a significant leap forward with the success of electric vehicle (EV) batteries as an application. Historically, growth has been steady for other applications, but with the EV market driving this growth, there is an opportunity for other applications to capitalize on the increased production volume. Although electric vehicles account for the majority of IDTechEx's long-term forecast for aerogels, IDTechEx still projects a CAGR of 7.4% between 2022 and 2034 for the aerogel market, excluding EV battery applications.
