The research collaboration will combine the expertise of both organizations in the sector with the Siemens Xcelerator product portfolio and the CEA-List toolset to help break down barriers between electronic design, software development, and mechanical engineering disciplines using digital twin technologies. This is expected to help customers significantly reduce the time and cost of verification and validation, drive significant improvements in product quality, and accelerate time to market across the entire product lifecycle of electronic systems, from architectural exploration to design and development. In parallel, the research will continue to explore the use of digital twin technologies in the fields of autonomous driving, intelligent robotics, and healthcare.

“With the sharp increase in electronics and software content in products and systems, there is a clear need for multi-domain, multi-fidelity system simulation solutions to alleviate the multiple design and verification challenges. We share CEA’s vision of an even more comprehensive digital twin and believe we can realize this vision through the power of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, as it covers everything from electronic design automation software and hardware tools to system, sensor, and multi-physics simulation software,” stated Jean-Marie Brunet, VP&GM of the Hardware-Aided Verification Division at Siemens Digital Industries Software. “From chip to system, this collaboration with CEA-List is expected to further expand the application domains and technological breadth of these solutions.”

“At CEA-List, we are delighted to partner with Siemens, which shares our common vision regarding the importance of a more holistic digital twin. CEA-List will contribute its expertise in digital technologies and tools, from immersive and functional digital twin platforms (XDE and Papyrus) to artificial intelligence and code verification,” stated Alexandre Bounouh, CEO of CEA-List. “We believe that the Siemens and CEA-List digital twin research roadmap can deliver best-in-class tools for rapidly generating AI-enhanced, immersive, and functional digital twins. This can undoubtedly boost companies’ competitiveness by enabling the early integration of digital twin technology to innovate their products and processes, keeping humans involved and reducing their environmental impact.”
