The event was attended by Eva García, Director General of Environment and Territorial Planning of the Government of Navarra, Juan Carlos Castillo, Mayor of Peralta, César Pérez, Director of the Circular Economy and Water Service, Jesús Fernández and Aintzane Pérez, technicians from the Directorate General.

Accompanied by Félix Guindulain, Vice President of the Corporation, and Isabel Carrilero, Smart Solutions Manager of Jofemar, they toured the Jofemar facilities which, in their more than 52,000 square meters, have 6 manufacturing and assembly lines for vending machines, an electrochemistry laboratory that incorporates the most cutting-edge technologies, an R&D department made up of more than 70 highly qualified professionals, as well as a pilot plant exclusively dedicated to the development and manufacture of Zn-Br flow batteries for stationary applications and energy storage.

During the visit, they toured the energy facilities of the LIFE Factory Microgrid project (LIFE13/ENV/ES/000700) to observe the actual operation of this industrial smart grid. This project is the result of an initiative launched by the Navarre-based company Jofemar and the National Renewable Energy Centre (CENER), whose main objective is to demonstrate the suitability of microgrids in industrial environments, especially in areas with high renewable energy penetration. Throughout the visit, the technologies developed by both partners within the framework of the project were also presented, specifically the RoxZell batteries with Zn-Br technology developed by Jofemar Energy and the innovative SCADA system for the intelligent management of the Smart Grid that CENER has developed and implemented.

Furthermore, the attendees were able to learn firsthand about the latest innovation projects in different areas that the Jofemar Group has launched, its technological capabilities, and its participation in various national and international R&D&I programs.
