In Morocco, 15 Ingeteam employees carry out operation and maintenance work at three photovoltaic plants—55 MW, 65 MW, and 15 MW—which are among the largest in North Africa. Last year, Ingeteam also supplied the photovoltaic inverters for these plants. The energy generated is fed into the Moroccan electricity grid and helps meet the energy demands of thousands of Moroccan households. This slightly reduces Morocco's heavy reliance on foreign energy, as the country currently imports up to 90% of its energy. This project aligns with Morocco's goal of obtaining 52% of its total energy production from renewable sources by 2030.
In addition, Ingeteam is responsible for the operation and maintenance of 230 MW across five South African photovoltaic plants. Furthermore, Ingeteam has recently been awarded the contract for the supply and commissioning of protection, control and measurement systems for three substations in Malawi.
In Peru, the Lima subsidiary provides Operation and Maintenance services for the photovoltaic sector at two solar plants in the Arequipa region of southern Peru. These parks were built in 2012 and have a combined installed capacity of 22 MW, enough electricity to power a population of up to 80,000.
One of them is the Repartición solar park, the first photovoltaic plant in South America to generate electricity from solar energy. The second plant is located in the Majes district and has more than 56,000 solar panels installed across 100 hectares.
