The Bizkaia Provincial Council joined the event, demonstrating its commitment to promoting and positioning Bizkaia as a region that supports innovation and entrepreneurship. BAT Tower Accelerator and Easo Ventures, leading players in the sector, also participated as collaborators. Through this initiative, BerriUp promotes entrepreneurship with social and economic impact, strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem and supporting the development of startups with a focus on sustainable growth and a strong connection to the region.

Eight companies from the energy, environmental, technology, industrial, healthcare, and automotive sectors—Aiako Tech, Ducha sin fin, Procesim, Muvatech, DS4T, Betternostic, OXHYD Energy, and Soquimat—participated in the final, held on June 12 at the BAT Tower in Bilbao. The event brought together approximately 130 guests, including representatives from startups, public institutions, corporations, and investors.

The jury, comprised of mentors and collaborators, all professionals with distinguished careers, listened to the pitches of the finalist projects, confirming their high level of preparation. The selection of startups that will participate in the next acceleration program will be announced later. At the beginning of the event, Jon Ander Merodio, CEO of BerriUp, emphasized “the importance of public-private collaboration in the process of supporting entrepreneurs, as it allows for increased success rates and the transfer of knowledge from sectors such as industry and finance to early-stage projects.”

In the words of Jon de Lapatza, president of Artizarra Fundazioa, “the basis of a society's growth is business, and for there to be business there must be initiative and talent, and from Artizarra Fundazioa we want to provide funding so that talent can flow and support the brave and heroic people who take risks by launching business projects.

On the other hand, Joy Okuyama, project director at BerriUp, highlighted that “BerriUp is much more than an acceleration program: it continues to grow with new lines of business with which it wants to deepen its collaboration with startups.

Finalist projects

The finalists who presented their projects on June 12th were the following:

AIAKO.TECH: Automotive software solution that anonymizes images —essential for autonomous vehicles—, making the capture of real visual data compatible with compliance with privacy regulations.

Endless shower, from Santa Cruz de Tenerife: a system that captures, filters, and disinfects wastewater and returns it at the same temperature and flow rate, saving up to 80% on water and energy. Aimed at the hospitality, gym, and construction sectors

Procesim, from Vitoria: a centralized, agnostic and customized SaaS data management platform for the industrial sector.

Muvatech, from Valencia: an AI-powered aerial thermographic inspection system that detects, classifies and prioritizes anomalies in photovoltaic assets, aimed at companies with solar fields.

DS4T, a startup from Biscay: the first AI agent for international trade. Its SaaS platform, Ttools, helps exporters, importers, and logistics operators reduce errors, costs, and risks, transforming complex operations into faster and more secure decisions.

Betternostic, a company based in Navarre, offers early and non-invasive veterinary cancer diagnosis using liquid biopsy. Their primary focus is canine lymphoma, providing diagnosis and prognosis in 30 minutes at a competitive price.

OXHYD Energy, a spin-off of IREC (Barcelona): a new generation of fuel cells and green hydrogen for sectors that are difficult to decarbonize (industry, data centers, ports, and maritime). Its 3D ceramic manufacturing process quintuples the power density compared to its competitors.

Soquimat: a deeptech startup developing PHENOX, a bio-based paint additive made from forest waste, as a sustainable alternative to chromates and heavy metals in anti-corrosive and antibacterial coatings, with clients in Chile and Europe.

The winning projects will be announced later

Following the morning's presentations, the jury remained to discuss the companies. The selected projects will be able to join the BerriUp Acceleration Program during the second half of 2026. BerriUp will also provide mentoring and support to the startups at a crucial time for consolidating their business projects. Furthermore, the winners will receive a minimum investment of €50,000 from the venture capital fund Easo Ventures, and Rural Kutxa will offer them access to financing on preferential terms through the Inicia Line for entrepreneurs. The winning projects will join the 44 that have participated to date over BerriUp, during which they have held twenty other acceleration programs. It is worth noting that these companies have had a higher survival rate than the market average.
