Farnell and Würth Elektronik have joined forces to offer a comprehensive range of electronic components, expertise, and value-added services to help electric vehicle product developers overcome design challenges and achieve their goals.

Würth Elektronik's innovative products are designed to simplify the handling of the high currents that characterize the charging and control of electric motors. The manufacturer's advanced electromagnetic compatibility solutions support fast charging, extend product lifespan, reduce electrical waste, and help future-proof the electric vehicle market.

As part of its electromobility campaign, Farnell stocks a wide range of Würth Elektronik products, including:
REDCUBE Terminals: REDCUBE terminals are the most reliable high-power contact for mounting double-sided printed circuit boards and the preferred choice for high-current electric vehicle charging stations. Thanks to innovative snap-fit technology, the terminals achieve safe and powerful charging energy transfer. The terminals are suitable for wall-mounted charging sockets for electric vehicles, EV charging stations, and light electric vehicles such as electric bicycles.

WE-AGDT Series: This series of compact, high-efficiency SMT transformers has been optimized for silicon carbide applications and simplifies the implementation of discrete SiC gate driver designs. With its extremely low interwinding capacitance, the WE-AGDT helps achieve greater immunity to common-mode transients. Applications include EV and hybrid electric vehicle charging stations, on-board and off-board EV chargers, and industrial motor drivers.

WE-MCI Series: The WE-MCI series of multilayer ceramic SMT inductors is based on a multilayer ceramic structure and is available in various inductance values ranging from 1 nH to 470 nH. These surface-mount devices, with tight inductance tolerances and a very stable inductance-to-temperature relationship, are perfect for automotive applications such as infotainment systems or keyless entry systems.

The world's first ferrite core that specifies high-current transient performance with high impedance across a wide frequency range, thus protecting and extending the application's lifespan. It features an ultra-low RDC, offering the lowest self-heating in its class at high currents. The WE-MPSB optimizes high-current performance relative to RDC, with up to a 75% reduction in RDC compared to similar components. The WE-MPSB is ideal for DC/DC applications requiring high efficiency.
