The GripIt fixing system is revolutionary. Recently launched on the market, it offers high load capacities, ease of installation, and high reliability, unlike existing, more traditional fixings for plasterboard surfaces.
While traditional fixings have a limited capacity to fix accessories such as cabinets or radiators to plasterboard walls, GripIt Fixings provides a more robust anchor, capable of handling loads of up to 180 kg, making it an ideal system for use in a wide variety of industrial environments, such as offices, hotels, shops and also for domestic and DIY use.
"GripIt Fixings solves everyday problems worldwide, which is why we're particularly interested in bringing this solution to the global market," commented Jordan Daykin, entrepreneur and co-inventor of GripIt. "RS Components has a strong global presence and a broad customer base of installers and engineers, whom we're eager to reach to achieve our goals."
"RS is a clear alternative for bringing GripIt to customers around the world," added Deborah Meaden, researcher and collaborator on this project. "My team and I were once RS customers and have always trusted their reliability thanks to their wide range of products and fast delivery."
“RS is dedicated to providing solutions and products that solve everyday problems and make our customers’ daily work easier. The GripIt fastening system offers an innovative approach to solving a long-standing problem, further enhancing our ability to support engineering customers with any of their product needs, from design to installation,” commented Ben Lawton, Global Head of Tools and Consumables at RS Components. “Jordan is a committed and enthusiastic entrepreneur. We look forward to working with him and Deborah to completely transform how installers perceive drywall surface fixings.”
The GripIt fixing system is easy to use and features a circular plastic body with a pair of metal wings for locking. The GripIt fixing is inserted into the pre-drilled hole in the plasterboard surface and gently tapped with a hammer until it is flush with the surface. To ensure the correct positioning of the support wings, they are turned clockwise using the swivel screws until firm resistance is felt and the wings lock into place, thus securing the system in that position and ensuring a high load capacity.
RS stocks the full range of GripIt fixings, available in four different sizes ranging from 15 mm to 25 mm in diameter. Each model is color-coded according to its diameter and load capacity. The self-adjusting fixings are suitable for plasterboard panels from 9.5 mm to 15 mm thick.
