Engineers can spend weeks creating CAD models for their printed circuit board (PCB) designs in what is often a laborious and complex process. Even a single mistake can result in thousands of dollars in wasted prototypes, as well as weeks of delays.

To help streamline this process, SnapMagic and Harwin have released more than 3,500 verified electronic models (E-CAD) for Harwin's high-reliability interconnect solutions, enabling engineers to move directly from product selection to design.

The E-CAD models, which include schematic symbols and PCB footprints, adhere to industry standards as well as SnapMagic's internal standards. All component libraries have been approved by manufacturers and have undergone a rigorous quality control process using SnapMagic's automated verification technology. Engineers can instantly download new models by visiting the SnapMagic Search website and searching for the desired product. The models are also available for download from the Harwin website via the SnapMagic CAD Viewer.

Harwin offers a wide range of robust, high-performance board-to-board and board-to-cable connectors, as well as associated components and accessories for high-reliability environments. The company's technologies are used in demanding applications ranging from submarines to satellites, industrial automation to unmanned vehicles, and medical equipment to automotive electronics.

“Harwin’s goal is to support engineers with the best tools and services that simplify and accelerate the selection and deployment of our advanced interconnect technologies,” said Peter Schneid, Vice President of Marketing at Harwin. “The partnership with SnapMagic and the integration of E-CAD tools into our website play a key role in supporting that goal, providing reliable, integrated data that significantly facilitates application design and development.”

“Both Harwin and SnapMagic believe that engineers shape the future. By supporting and empowering engineers, our new partnership accelerates the design of new products that improve our world faster than ever before,” said Natasha Baker, CEO and Founder of SnapMagic.

In addition to the SnapMagic and Harwin websites, libraries can be downloaded through SnapMagic's distribution network partners.

CAD models are available in more than 15 PCB design formats, including Altium, OrCAD and Allegro, KiCad, Autodesk Fusion 360 and EAGLE, Proteus, etc.
