The new stand design is focused on welcoming and informing, allowing visitors to view the full product portfolio and focus on individual display areas to gain a deeper understanding of the equipment and software of particular interest to them.
Automatic Load Feeder:
The biggest improvement in line productivity and efficiency is the introduction of the Yamaha Automatic Load Feeder (ZS-ALF). This feeder allows for the addition of a second reel to be fed into the same feeder at any time during operation. The ALF design eliminates the need for splicing materials or operators with advanced splicing skills, while reducing lost tape particles and paper dust. The ALF also reduces machine downtime, increases line efficiency, and improves placement quality.
3D MID Production Platform:
The SMT industry is at the beginning of a new era, featuring advanced and innovative products built with 3D printing materials and printed electronics. For this type of production, Yamaha will introduce the S20-3D MID (Molded Interconnect Device) machine. Built on a standard S20 assembly platform, this new machine is capable of dispensing adhesives or soldering and assembling components onto 3D substrates at any angle.
The superior print quality of the YCP10 screen printer, with its unique 3S printhead featuring a variable-angle rubber and user-friendly stencil graphic alignment, is conquering the printing market. A growing number of customers recognize Yamaha printing technology as the best printing solution ever made.
The award-winning 4-beam YSM40R, boasting an unbeatable placement speed of 200,000 cph, will demonstrate how its 1-meter line length provides a performance advantage for businesses with limited space.
Visitors seeking maximum speed with flexibility will find their target in the upgraded Sigma G5S2, now boasting a high-speed placement speed of 90,000 cph. Highly configurable thanks to dual-head placement and the integrated Overdrive Control system, the G5S2 introduces innovations such as matrix recognition for optically precise LED placement.
The YSM20 90,000 cph machine from the new high-speed modular YSM family optimizes productivity with features such as intelligent component shape recognition, automatic precision compensation, time-saving 1-head placement, and advanced features for faster changeovers.
European audiences will also get their first glimpse of the new YSM10 case erector, part of the highly anticipated high-speed modular family. The single-beam, single-head YSM10 offers a best-in-class placement speed of 46,000 cph, benefiting from the high-speed multi-head, versatile component feeding, multi-camera, e-Vision, and intelligent component recognition capabilities of the high-end YSM40R and YSM20. These machines will also be on display at the booth, alongside the YSM10.
Special attention to the latest advancements:
Yamaha's complete line solution is complemented by the YSi-V high-speed 3D Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) system. With a new boost in inspection speed, introduced in 2017, as well as increased resolution for ultra-high-precision component inspection, down to 0201 (metric), the YSi-V now meets the highest performance standards in the industry.
The YSi-V family offers versatile options, from basic 2D-only inspection to dual-mode 2D/3D inspection, 5 MP or 12 MP cameras, and the high-speed HS2 camera.
Checking boards immediately after placement, from four angles and with multiple wavelengths, including infrared, ensures zero-error defect capture. Laser height verification also confirms coplanarity and perfect pin-in-paste insertion. Furthermore, the integrated software that converts data from the assembly line, combined with the intuitive YSi-V graphical user interface (GUI), ensures the fastest possible increase in new product introductions (NPI). YSi-V can be used for post-placement, post-reflow, or both, and the closed-loop data interface with Yamaha monitors allows the Quality Assisted (QA) software to send data to Yamaha assembly line machines in real time to resolve any assembly issues very quickly.
Yamaha Factory Automation will showcase how Yamaha's Advanced Robotics Automation Platform can help electronics companies further increase assembly productivity. Yamaha's robotics portfolio, including orbiting SCARA and Cartesian robots, is already driving automation across numerous industries, and visitors can now see how this technology is poised to deliver affordable, reprogrammable solutions for electronics manufacturing assembly.
A dedicated software area will help visitors understand the power that Yamaha Factory Tools 4.0 brings to the company. This comprehensive suite includes tools for New Product Instructions (NPI) with virtual sticky tape controls, multi-grouping, and efficient setup scenarios, as well as monitoring, traceability, and planning capabilities. It also enables real-time status visualization at all levels of the factory. In addition, the AOI inspection database, iProDB, captures post-assembly and post-reflow inspection results to help optimize processes and improve design for manufacturing. Applications such as Mobile Judgment also keep supervisors informed wherever they are and minimize downtime.
Visitors can experience these groundbreaking innovations for themselves at the Yamaha booth, Hall A3, 323, during Productronica at Messe München, from November 14 to 17, 2017.
