Advances in printed electronics are facilitating innovative developments such as flexible and rollable displays for different applications such as e-readers and smartphones, capacitive surfaces, replacement of keypads, lighting solutions that can adapt to complex surfaces, thin-film sensors that can be easily integrated into any place or surface, and electronic devices that adapt to the human body, among other applications.

AIMPLAS, the Plastics Technology Institute, has a research line in Plastronics for the development of flexible electronic components (capacitive, resistive, and piezoresistive sensors, RFID antennas, heated resistors, electroluminescence, and hybrid electronics) and their integration into composites and thermoplastic materials using In-Mold Electronics. Since 2017, the technology center has held an annual Flexible Electronics course, which this year will celebrate its sixth edition on June 2nd and 3rd in Valencia, both in person and via live stream for those unable to attend. This is a great opportunity to start new projects and developments using this emerging technology.
