SPE is an evolution of traditional Ethernet that uses only two wires for data transmission instead of eight, allowing for increased speed, reduced cable size and weight, and lower installation costs. All these advantages are especially valuable in industrial applications.
Participants in the competition will receive an SPE component kit, and four selected candidates will receive a free Molex SPE kit. Applicants must document their experiments or projects in blog posts on the element14 community forum, incorporating the kit into their final project or abstract. Innovative use of Molex SPE connectors and cables will be a key factor in determining which entries will be eligible for the prizes.
The competition is open to all members of the element14 community, and entry is free.
