The main advantage this series offers over its predecessors, the LDD-H, LDD-L, and LDH series, is that the output voltage can be higher or lower than the input voltage thanks to its buck-boost topology (boosting and stepping up the input voltage). Previous series could only provide a constant output current within a voltage range above or below the input voltage. This limited design possibilities, as it was restricted by the battery and LED voltages. With this new version, we offer a more versatile solution for solar LED lighting applications. In these applications, the batteries are charged during daylight hours, and the stored energy is used to power the LEDs at night. This type of application is used in countries or areas without access to the electrical grid, and also in many applications where maximum energy savings and ease of installation are desired. Examples include bus stops, street lighting, gardens, and country homes.
Furthermore, the LDB-L series includes an EMI filter that allows compliance with EN55015 electromagnetic compatibility for lighting without additional components.
These devices are manufactured with an encapsulation material that transmits heat and insulates against moisture and electricity, offering a high degree of IP67 protection in extreme environments of humidity and dust.
Furthermore, these devices can be dimmed by regulating the output intensity, allowing the brightness to be reduced when the battery is running low, thus extending operating time. The device's standby power consumption is also very low, further increasing battery life.
