Conventional AC/DC transducers are highly susceptible to errors due to their poor isolation and are only designed for measuring pure sine waves. However, the Knick P 43000 TRMS has been designed to accurately process distorted input signals as well. The high-precision true RMS circuitry converts signals with a crest factor of up to 5 in the frequency range of 40 Hz to 1000 Hz or 8 Hz to 400 Hz. The VariTrans P 43000 TRMS supports operating voltages up to 3600 V AC/DC and test voltages up to 15 kV. Protective separation between the input, output, and power supply provides protection against electrical shock up to 1800 V AC/DC according to EN 61140.
Knick's proprietary TransShield technology facilitates an extremely compact and shielded design for the high-voltage transformers, allowing the VariTrans P 43000 TRMS to be housed in a very compact enclosure just 45 mm wide. The vacuum encapsulation provides maximum long-term protection against the effects of harsh environments, shock, and vibration. Furthermore, the VariTrans P 43000 TRMS transducers have an integrated wide-range power supply that delivers voltages from 20 to 253 V AC/DC, ensuring maximum reliability even in regions with unreliable auxiliary power.
